BRITISH WEST INDIES REGIMENT SOLDIERS KILLED IN WORLD WAR I

Ypres in Belgium was the site of one of the bloodiest battles British troops were involved in during World War One. There is a large war memorial in the centre of the town (Menin Gate) on which there are 54,896 names of British & British Empire soldiers killed or missing from 1914 - 1917.
